This course highlights the various features of Microsoft Access and Microsoft Visual Basic to create an appreciation for the types of applications that can be developed. By the end of the course, you will be able to use your Access and Visual Basic knowledge to build client/server database applications.

Introduction to Visual Basic

  • What is an application?
  • Opening, closing and saving projects and forms

Building the Application

  • Adding controls and other display objects
  • Manipulating control and object properties
  • Writing event procedures
  • Compiling and running the project

Data Types and Procedures

  • A look at different data types, variables and constants
  • Adding conditions, loops and comments
  • Creating subroutines

Other VB goodies

  • Creating menus and dialog boxes
  • Using the debugging tools
  • Using timers, graphs, cursors and icons
